The Acura Classic has designated the Scripps Polster Breast Care Center as its prime charity beneficiary for 2007. The centerpiece of the tournament's charitable effort on behalf of the Center will be a gala benefit dinner to be held August 2nd. 100% of the proceeds from the evening will go directly to the Scripps Polster Breast Care Center, the most comprehensive breast care facility in San Diego. In addition to cocktails and a buffet dinner, guests will enjoy silent and live auctions, as well as appearances by the world-renowned women tennis stars. Guests will also receive tickets to the tournament's quarterfinal matches for that evening.

The 2006 charity event raised $272,000 for the Scripps Polster Breast Care Center. The highlight of the evening was when Kim Clijsters bid $11,000 for a black Labrador puppy and then gave it to a woman she had met earlier that evening at the charity dinner who had recently lost her dog.
The Acura Classic would like to thank everyone who attended the charity event last year and look forward to seeing you all again in 2007.
