SERENA WILLIAMS ENTERS 2007 ACURA CLASSIC

-- 8-time Grand Slam Winner Signs on for La Costa Tournament --

SAN DIEGO, CA, May 23, 2007 – Promotion Sports, Inc. today announced that Serena Williams has entered the 2007 Acura Classic, to be held July 28 - August 5 at the La Costa Resort & Spa. The 8-time Grand Slam Champion will be making her second San Diego appearance in singles competition.

Williams, who has spent 57 career weeks as the world’s #1 ranked player, has just this week returned to the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour’s top ten rankings at #9, following nearly two years out of the top ten while hampered by injuries. So far this season she has won both the Australian Open and the prestigious Miami Tier I tournament. Serena turned professional in 1995 at age 14. She won a Gold Medal in doubles at the 2000 Sydney Olympics with her sister Venus. In addition to her singles debut at the Acura Classic in 2004, she previously played doubles in San Diego with Venus in 1999, reaching the finals before losing to Lindsay Davenport and Corina Moriau.

Noted Promotion Sports’ Raquel Giscafré: “Serena is clearly a superstar both on and off the court. When she competes, the tremendous talent and intense focus she brings to her game undoubtedly make her one of the most exciting players to watch of all time. She has said she’s aiming to return to the #1 spot this year, and it’s surely within the realm of possibility. Let’s hope she does it right here in San Diego.”

With the addition of Serena, the 2007 Acura Classic now boasts four players who have won multiple Grand Slam tournaments, including Justine Henin (5 Grand Slams), Maria Sharapova (2 Grand Slams ) and Martina Hingis (5 Grand Slams).
