CARLSBAD, CA, April 12, 2007 – Promotion Sports, Inc. is now accepting volunteer applications for the upcoming 2007 Acura Classic, to be held July 28 - August 5 at the La Costa Resort & Spa. Acura Classic volunteers work in a variety of areas including Ushers, Tickets & Gates, Will Call & Reception, Court Services, Transportation, Ballpersons and more.
Says Jane Stratton of Promotion Sports, Inc.: “An event the size of the Acura Classic couldn’t take place without a coordinated effort between a great many dedicated individuals, and we are fortunate to work with over 600 volunteers, many of whom return year after year to lend a hand. Our volunteers have lots of fun, share their passion and enthusiasm for tennis, and work hard – but at the end of the day they have the satisfaction and pride of knowing that they have played a part in making San Diego’s premier tennis event a success.”

Now in its 24th year, the Acura Classic is one of the premier events on the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour and one of the largest women’s tennis tournaments in the world. Past winners include Maria Sharapova, Mary Pierce, Justine Henin, Lindsay Davenport, Venus Williams, Martina Hingis, Steffi Graf and Jennifer Capriati.
